The Alcester-Hudson Cub softball team scored in every inning in a 15-5 win over the Chester Flyers on Monday, May 12. The Cubs improved to 14-2 on the season with the win.
Alcester-Hudson scored three times in the top of the first inning. Chester answered with a run in the bottom of the inning for a 3-1 score. The Cubs got another run in the top of the second, but the Flyers scored three times in the bottom of the inning to tie the game 4-4. That’s when the Cubs took over.
Alcester-Hudson scored three times in the top of third and five more in the top of the fourth for a 12-4 score. Chester got one run in the bottom of the fourth. The Cubs added three more runs in the top of the fifth to make the score 15-5. The Flyers were unable to score in the bottom of the fifth, and the game ended on the 10-run rule.
Delta Pies had three doubles in the game with four RBIs. Laney Decker finished with two hits, one a double, and an RBI. Paxtyn Moller had two hits. Emma Moller had a double with two RBIs. E. Moller also pitched all five innings and allowed five runs, four earned, on four hits and two walks with 10 strikeouts.
