The Republic newspaper conducted a Q & A with out-going Beresford High School Principal Renee Anderson, who is leaving the District this month.
How long have you worked in the district? In what roles?
I’ve worked in the Beresford School District for three years as the Middle School and High School Principal. Prior to that, I served as a school counselor for nine years.
How has your time been with the Beresford School District (BSD)?
My time in Beresford has been incredibly meaningful and rewarding. I’ve had the privilege of working alongside dedicated educators, amazing students, and a supportive community. Together, we’ve made progress on key initiatives like MTSS, PDSA cycles, literacy and behavior interventions.
What will you miss about the BSD?
I’ll deeply miss the relationships – with staff, students, and families. There’s a unique sense of pride and collaboration in Beresford that’s hard to find elsewhere. I will especially miss the moments of laughter, the hallway conversations, sporting events, and the opportunity to see students grow from middle school into confident young adults.
What are your future plans?
I’ve accepted a position as an Elementary Principal in the Harrisburg School District. I’m excited to return to Harrisburg in a new capacity and bring with me all the lessons and experiences I’ve gained from my time in Beresford.
Please share anything else you’d like the public to know.
It’s been an absolute honor to serve the Beresford community. I’ll always be grateful for the trust and support I received and will carry fond memories of our time together into this next chapter. Thank you for allowing me to be a part of something truly special.
