The hope is that the pool will be open to swimmers by mid-June
It’s been a rough couple of years for the Alcester Pool, but things finally seem to be going right. According to Alcester City Finance Officer Dave Hodgson, repairs on the pool have been going well despite some weather delays. Both pools have been completely sand-blasted and cracking has been repaired. The exterior plumbing to the main pool is complete, has been tested and is in the process of being covered back up. There is one main line still needing to be run from the wader pool, then plumbing will be complete. Replacement of concrete decks surrounding the pool is underway. If the weather continues to cooperate, contractors say they should be able to finish work on the facility by early to mid June, if not sooner (photos/Dave Hodgson).
