The Beresford Watchdog softball team had their season come to an end in the SoDak 16 on Tuesday, May 27. The Watchdogs hosted the Vermillion Tanagers, and the Tanagers took the win 13-0. Beresford was held to just two hits in the game.
Vermillion scored early and often. The Tanagers had two runs in the top of the first, two in the second, three in the third, and two more in the fourth for a 9-0 lead. The score remained 9-0 until the top of the seventh. Vermillion added four more runs in their half of the seventh inning.
Ivy Keiser and Harley Koth had the two hits for Beresford. Brynlee Mohning pitched 2 1/3 innings and allowed seven runs, six earned, on six hits and a walk. Rylie Laurvick threw four innings and allowed six runs, four earned, on eight hits and two walks with two strikeouts. Kennedy Merrigan threw 1/3 of an inning walking two and striking out one. Keely Merrigan also pitched 1/3 of an inning and allowed one walk.
