There are certainly some talented young athletes in the Alcester-Hudson and Beresford School Districts.
During the past two weeks, in a flurry of final competitions, games, and make-up meets between spells of rain, students from the area qualified for three state tournaments in track, golf, and softball.
Both Alcester-Hudson and Beresford students qualified for the State Track & Field Meet, which was held last weekend in Sioux Falls. Both schools also qualified athletes to compete at the State Golf tournaments, scheduled for June 2 and 3 at various locations in South Dakota.
And once again this year, Alcester-Hudson has qualified for state in softball, so they will be sending the team to state this week.
The Republic newspaper wishes to congratulate all state competitors on their accomplishments – qualifying for state is no small feat! This week, The Republic newspaper celebrates Track & Field state qualifiers and state golfers – look inside for more. Then next week, we’ll celebrate Cubs softball.
