Fingers are crossed and plans are set to open the Alcester Pool this Saturday, June 28. Renovations on the pool were finished earlier this month. A new concrete deck was poured, the pool was sealed, and filled, and chemicals are being leveled out. Here, workers work on detail cleaning of the pool. As long as weather doesn’t cause issues this week, the pool should be open on Saturday from 1 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. To celebrate the long-awaited opening of the pool, the City of Alcester will be offering free swimming on Saturday and Sunday. After that, season passes can be purchased for $85 for a family and $40 for an individual. Daily admission rate is $4. Come enjoy the pool (photo/Riva Sharples).
