It’s going to be a busy week of Homecoming festivities next week in Alcester. Not only will students enjoy the usual activities of dress up days, sporting events, the A-H Homecoming parade on Friday, and the big football game, there will also be Alcester’s All School Reunion going on.

The Alcester All School Reunion will be happening October 17 and 18.

Over 300 alumni have registered for the scheduled events. The oldest class that will be represented will be the Class of 1945. Registration will begin at 9:00 am at the Morningside Event Center and will resume following the Homecoming Parade. The Event Center will be open following the parade to continue registration and for a social time of visiting.

The AHHS Booster Club will be hosting a tailgate at the football field prior to the Homecoming football game on Friday, Oct. 17. Alumni, students, and community members are encouraged to attend the tailgate to support the Booster Club.

The Booster Club is also sponsoring an adult Homecoming Dance to take place following the game.

Explains Karla Bovill, a member of the Booster Club: “The adult Homecoming Dance will follow the football game on October 17. It will be held at the event center at the clubhouse. We Do Events will DJ the event. It is open to all adults 21 and older. There is a $10 entrance fee which includes appetizers.”

All – including alumni — are invited and encouraged to attend this adult dance.

Saturday, Alumni Reunion events include the Alcester Fire Department’s Pancake Feed, a quilt hop, class get togethers, school tours, and the final event of the evening: the banquet held at the high school gym. Doors open at 5:00 pm for the banquet with the meal served at 6:00 pm.

The Alcester Chamber has planned additional events as well, including fireworks following the football game, food trucks in town on Saturday, and the Farmers Market.

To be part of the parade on the 17th, contact the school at 605-934-1890 to be entered.
