Beresford Area Foundation awards $9,999 grant for childcare initiative

The Board of Directors of the Beresford Area Foundation has announced a gift in the amount of $9,999 to the City of Beresford for the Beresford Child Care Initiative. The purpose of the grant is to launch the Child Care Plan Kickstart Program and the Child Care Center Stability Program.
These initiatives build on the work of Beresford’s Child Care Task Force and from the insights gained from a recent community survey. It is meant to address the critical child care shortage in Beresford.
The Kickstart Program will refine the task force’s strategies over three months, aligning stakeholders and providing actionable steps to expand childcare access in Beresford.
The Stability Program will bolster Bright Beginnings, our sole child care center with two buildings, enhancing its capacity and sustainability.
Together, these efforts will tackle availability, affordability and quality gaps, supporting families, workforce participation and economic growth – key pillars of Beresford’s well-being.
The availability of childcare continues to be a major concern and employers. It is a major workforce issue. The goal of the study is to make significant increases in the availability of childcare options in the Beresford community.
The Beresford Area Foundation is proud to support the efforts of the City of Beresford and the Beresford Child Care Initiative to address this significant issue in the local economy and community. Only by gifts to the Foundation from members of the community can the Foundation be in a position to make these grants. Please consider a tax-deductible gift to the Beresford Area Foundation, P.O.
