The Beresford School District is joining other districts across the state this week in thanking school board members for their leadership and service to the local school district and community. The South Dakota School Board Recognition Week is February 16-20.
The men and women serving the Beresford School District are Nathan Jensen, President (serving since 2021); Chris Savey, Vice-President (since 2013); Dan Erickson (since 2013); Sara DeLay (since 2024); and Deborah Bergland (2005-2024, 2025-present).
The Beresford School Board is responsible for setting the district’s vision and goals and strives to provide a quality education to students. The school board also hires quality educators, adopts policies, and evaluates progress while always keeping the best interests of students in mind.
During School Board Recognition Week, the Beresford School District invites students, staff, and community members to take part in thanking school board members.
“I am thankful for the board’s service to our District and community,” said Beresford Superintendent Dustin Degen. “More so, I appreciate the group’s willingness to not only address our short-term needs, but also the group’s work to help our District thrive for the next generations to come. On behalf of the staff and students of the Beresford School District, thank you for your servant leadership.”
