Beresford’s Gerald Dahlin named 2025 Technician of the Year

Automotive Parts Headquarters Inc. (APH), a Minnesota-based auto parts distributor and Auto Value store group, has named Gerald Dahlin, owner of D.A.D.’s Repair in Beresford, as its 2025 Technician of the Year. Dahlin was selected from a competitive field within APH’s Certified Service Center network and will represent the company at the national Aftermarket Auto Parts Alliance Technician of the Year competition, set for July 7–10 in Detroit.

As APH’s honoree, Dahlin received a commemorative plaque and a gift card. An ASE Master Technician, his selection reflects the rigorous standards of the national competition, which emphasizes certification, technical expertise, and ongoing professional development. The program honors the most skilled and dedicated professionals in the automotive service industry.

“Being named a finalist among nearly 4,000 Certified Service Centers is a remarkable achievement,” said Dustin Kremer, outside sales representative at the Auto Value parts store in Beresford, who co-nominated Dahlin alongside APH regional manager Mike Olson and store manager Craig Akland. “Gerald’s work ethic and technical ability speak for themselves. We’re proud to have him represent us on the national stage.”

The competition will include a written ASE exam and a hands-on skills assessment. Dahlin will compete alongside more than a dozen top technicians from across the U.S. and Canada. Finalists will also participate in industry tours and events, including visits to the Henry Ford Museum, Greenfield Village, the Ford Rouge Factory, and Champion Motor Speedway.

The national winner will receive a $2,500 cash prize and an invitation to the ASE annual convention in Arizona this November.

The Alliance Technician of the Year program recognizes excellence in training, diagnostics, and service among aftermarket professionals across North America.
