Carol was born in Beresford on June 20,1926, to Alvin and Alice Edblom. She had a sister, Joan, and brother, John. Carol graduated from Beresford High School and attended 1 year of college. She married Robert (Bob) Thompson on August 5th, 1947, and they moved to Oregon. Together they worked hand in hand raising four children on a fruit and vegetable farm, and in their later years ventured into growing nursery products in Boring, Oregon.
Carol enjoyed planning and attending family gatherings, gardening, travel (both local and international), playing games, and reading. She was always very interested and involved in her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren’s lives and activities. Carol was a longstanding member of Trinity Lutheran Church, faithfully and quietly giving her time to serve the church community in a variety of roles over many years.
Carol is preceded in death by her husband Bob of 56 years, her son, Greg (2019) and both her sister and brother. She is survived by her daughters Linda (Larry), Nancy (Dan), Sara (Scott), 6 grandchildren, and 6 great grandchildren,
