Juliet Josko & Riley Hanner | BHS Journalism students
This weekend, November 14 and 15, Beresford High School is staging a great show called The Greek Mythology Olympiaganza. This nearly two-hour long play follows two students attempting to give the entire history of Greek Mythology, but they do a not-so-great job examining the subject and giving it a modern twist. The audience gets a fun and engaging look into important stories like “Pandora’s Box” and “The 12 labors of Hercules.”
New BHS Director Carson Johnson shows off his great artistic abilities and visions with this play. Johnson shows his amazing capabilities in directing the young students to really give the audience a laugh. The students are working hard and show a great amount of teamwork as well to bring the show to perfection.
Sophia Coe and Maxwell Kinney star as the students attempting to re-tell Greek mythology. Additional cast members include Jayda Tadlock, Raider Hanner, Riley Hanner, Hunter Penn, Sophie Penn, Gavin Stewart, Javon Hawkins, Mobi Merriman, Oliver Merriman, Hailey Steveins, Juliet Josko, and, Dakota Reis. Grace Rasmussen is the backstage crew, and Juliet Josko serves as Assistant Director. A very special thanks to Erin Coe and Erin Steveins for making almost all of the costumes for the play.
The cast has been preparing this play for two months. Starting in September, the cast worked extremely hard to bring this show to the community. Tickets cost $6 for adults, $4 for kids, and free admission for students K-12 from Beresford. Check out our poster design, which was made by the wonderful Oliver Merriman.
We hope to see you all there this weekend! The Greek Mythology Olympiaganza will be performed at 7 p.m. this Friday, Nov. 14, and Saturday, Nov. 15.
