As the year comes to a close, one Beresford business is looking back on its first year of existence with gratitude and excitement.

“Our first year of being open has been amazing,” said Amy Cooper, who owns Maker’s Market, located at 107 N 3rd Street in Beresford, along with her daughter Catelyn Ramirez. “We’ve loved every minute of building this community of vendors, makers and designers. We’ve enjoyed meeting so many people in Beresford and the surrounding communities and seeing our space come to life. It’s been a year of growth, creativity and connection and we are excited for what 2026 has in store for the Maker’s Market!”

Maker’s Market offers a wide variety of locally made small business goods including handmade crafts, home decor, candles, jewelry, clothing, art, clean bath and body products, kids items, seasonal decor, baked goods, and unique gifts. With over 50 vendors selling items at the store (including nine “kid-preneurs”) a trip to Maker’s Market is unique as there is always something new to discover inside the store.

This distinctive store has been well-received in Beresford.

“The response has been so encouraging!” said Cooper. “We have felt a lot of love and support from Beresford and the surrounding communities. It has been amazing to see people excited about shopping locally and supporting our vendors.”

Maker’s Market was started last January, sharing a space downtown with Living Waters Trading Post & Health Food Store. Now, Living Waters will be moving out of the space and continuing its business online. However, Maker’s Market will remain in the downtown Beresford storefront and has plans to utilize the vacated space for expansion and to bring even more to the community.

“We’re excited to utilize the vacated space by expanding Maker’s Market with more room for vendors, workshops, and community events,” said Cooper. “This area will allow us to bring in new makers, host creative experiences, and continue growing and welcoming space for shopping, connection and creativity.”

The store is always looking for new vendors to join their ranks.

“Customers often ask for a wider variety of unique, locally made items such as baked goods and custom apparel for men and children,” said Cooper. “We are always hoping to find new vendors to bring something fresh, high quality, and different to complement our current mix and meet customer requests.”

Maker’s Market isn’t just a place to shop – it’s also a community, says Cooper.

“We’re a community hub where local makers, artists and small businesses can connect and share their creativity with customers,” she said.

As the store gears up to celebrate its one year anniversary in January, Cooper and Ramirez say they are excited for the future.

“Maker’s Market has had an incredible first year thanks to the support of our community and talented vendors,” they said. “We have exciting plans coming in 2026 to make the Maker’s Market even more engaging and welcoming for everyone. Please make sure to follow us on FaceBook at Makers Market and Instagram @makers_market_24 for updates.”

Maker’s Market is open Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m.
