James “Jimmy J” Jervik was born December 18, 1958, in Hawarden, Iowa to Clarence and Beverly (Larson) Jervik. He died October 22, 2025, at Sanford USD Medical Center in Sioux Falls, SD at the age of 66 years, 10 months and 4 days. A memorial service was held at 2 p.m. Monday, October 27, 2025, at Wass Funeral Home in Beresford with visitation prior to the service.
Jimmy was raised in the Norway Center, SD area where he attended Sunde Country School and Alcester High School. He worked for several years at McCord Corporation, now Adams Thermal Systems, in Canton. Jimmy had a love for collecting items, or as he called them, his “treasures”.
His parents and one brother, David, preceded him in death.
Jimmy is survived by his sister, Deb (Arvid) Sommervold of Brookings; brother, Don Jervik of Beresford; several nieces and nephews and his beloved rescue dog, Bea.
