The Beresford Jr Legion baseball team earned wins in their previous two games. They defeated Vermillion on Wednesday, June 18, and then defeated Elk Point-Jefferson on Saturday, June 21.

Early runs were enough for Beresford in their win over Vermillion. Beresford scored three times in the top of the first and four more in the top of the second for an early 7-0 lead. Vermillion scored five times in the bottom of the second to cut the lead to 7-5. Beresford then scored two in the third and one more in the fourth to extend their lead to 10-5. Vermillion responded with three in the bottom of the fourth making the score 10-8. Each team got a run in the fifth inning. The game ended after a scoreless sixth inning.
Ian Henderson had two hits. Ashton Oberle added a hit with four RBIs. Evan Haak had a single and two RBIs. Charlie Eide had a hit with an RBI. Kasen Voss, Cam Mullinix, and Hogan Hybertson all had one hit each. Haak pitched two innings and allowed five earned runs on three hits and five walks with a strikeout. Henderson pitched 2 1/3 innings and allowed four runs, but just one earned, on two hits and six walks with two strikeouts. Oberle threw 1 2/3 innings and struck out one batter.

Elk Point-Jefferson 0
Tucker Martz held Elk Point-Jefferson to just hit in four innings and struck out one in Beresford’s 15-0 win on Saturday. Beresford scored four in the first inning, eight in the second, two in the third, and finally one in the fourth to end the game on the 15-run rule.
Henderson had three hits, including a double and triple, with an RBI. Oberle had two hits with two RBIs. Ethan Bobzin added a double and single. Eide had a hit with two RBIs. Haak and Lucas Anderson both had a hit and RBI. Martz ended with a double. Ben Seeley had a single, and Voss had an RBI.
