The Alcester-Hudson Cubs boys golf team is headed to the South Dakota Class B State Golf Tournament after securing a second-place finish at the Region Meet, earning them a spot at state both as a team and individually. The Cubs will compete at Cattail Crossing Golf Course in Watertown on June 2 and 3.
Leading the way for the Cubs was Emmett Manning, who shot an 83 and placed 10th overall. He was followed closely by Liam Moumy, who finished in 14th place with a score of 85. Wayne Overhulser posted an 87, earning him 16th place, while Adam Fickbohm rounded out the team’s strong showing with an 89 and a 22nd-place finish.
Thanks to these solid performances, Alcester-Hudson secured the Region Runner-Up title and will advance to the state meet as a team—an impressive accomplishment for the program.
On the girls’ side, Charleanna Paulson and Jenna Manning represented the Cubs with determination and skill. Paulson finished 24th, and Manning followed right behind in 25th place, both turning in strong efforts on the course.
The Alcester-Hudson community looks forward to cheering on the Cubs boys golf team at state and congratulates all golfers for their hard work and success this season.
