Beresford Area Baseball season ends at regions

The Beresford Area high school baseball team had their season come to an end in the Region 1B tournament on Wednesday, May 21. Beresford entered the regional tournament as the #7 seed and fell to the host, #2 Elk Point-Jefferson, 7-1.
Beresford took the lead in the top of the first on an RBI single by Kasen Voss, but that was the only run they could get in the game. Elk Ponit-Jefferson scored two times in the bottom of the first for a 2-1 lead. They added a run in the second. The score remained 3-1 until the fifth. Elk Point-Jefferson got three more runs in the bottom of the fifth and one more in the sixth.
Voss had two hits and an RBI. Cooper Nelson, Ethan Bovill, and Ian Henderson all had one hit each. Bovill pitched six innings and allowed seven runs, but just two earned, on eight hits and a walk with four strikeouts.
