The Beresford Blues fell to the Larchood Diamonds in Larchwood, IA by a score of 13-1 on Thursday, July 17.
Larchwood scored two runs in the bottom of the first, five in the second, and three in the third for an early 10-0 lead. The Diamonds got three more in the fifth to push the lead to 13-0. Beresford got their lone run in the sixth. The game ended on the 10-run rule after seven innings.
Mike Chartier had the only two hits for the Blues, one of them a double. Andrew Halling had an RBI. Matt Sisk pitched 2 1/3 innings and allowed nine runs, eight earned, on nine hits and three walks with two strikeouts. Zach Boden pitched two innings and allowed three runs, two earned, on two hits and four walks with two strikeouts. Chartier tossed an inning and allowed a walk with two strikeouts. Sam Thorson pitched 2/3 of an inning and gave up an earned run on a hit and two walks with one strikeout.
