Donald (“Tiny”) Orville Jensen, 90, passed away August 11, 2025, with his wife beside him at his home in Leisure Valley Ranch, Mission, TX. His wife Sharon had lovingly cared for him during his declining health the last few months of his life.

He was born March 13, 1935, and was baptized at the Rockfield Lutheran Church. He grew up on a farm near Beresford, South Dakota and attended rural school in Clay County. Donald’s ambition as a teenager led him to work at several construction jobs. He then enlisted in the Army June 1952 and received an honorable discharge two years later.

Donald married Delores Larson in 1957. They were blessed with 4 children; 3 sons Jerry, Jeff, and Scott and a daughter Sheryl.

Donald farmed in the Beresford area for 4 years before becoming involved in agri-businesses. These included ABS and AO Smith Harvestores. He then again went into farming near Danbury, Iowa. Thereafter, he owned a John Deere dealership in Anthon, Iowa. Later in life he moved to Charles City, Iowa, and started a feed sales and delivery business.

After retiring, he spent his winter months in Weslaco, Texas, where he met Sharon. They were married in 2001 and resided in Mission, Texas. He was an active member of Spirit of Peace Lutheran Church. He enjoyed golfing, traveling and his daily 4PM “happy hour.”

Donald was preceded in death by his parents Orville and Elva, two brothers, Cameron and Danny and a granddaughter, Tricia. Those grateful to have shared his life include Delores and Sharon; sons Jerry (Teresa), Jeff (Patty), Scott (Joni), and daughter Sheryl (Jay Schumann); sister Mary Larson; sisters-in-law Betty Jensen and Karen Jensen. Also grateful are 14 grandchildren and 32 great-grandchildren; 2 stepdaughters; Amy Pyle and Lauralee Holmbo and families.

Don’s strong faith in the Lord gave him peaceful comfort and contentment during the last days of his life. Blessed be his memory!
