It will be about food, fun, family, and fellowship this Sunday at Komstad Covenant Church’s end of summer gathering.

Everyone is invited to come enjoy this end of summer celebration, being called “Round Up Day,” at the rural church, located at 29987 University Road, Beresford.

The day kicks off at 4 p.m. with an outdoor worship service led by Komstad Pastor Dan Davey. After, enjoy an old-fashioned barbeque, featuring hot dogs, hamburgers, and side dishes galore offered up by church members.

There will be old-fashioned games for kids and adults alike to enjoy on the church grounds.

After a lovely summer evening of food, fun, and fellowship, enjoy dessert.

“We will finish off our evening with build your own ice cream sundaes,” said Davey. “This is an opportunity for our church family to enjoy each other’s company and have some fun together. We also want to welcome members of our community – in Beresford, Centerville, and Viborg – to a great wholesome family event where they can meet new friends and connect with familiar faces.”

Round Up Day was conceived as not only a church event for members, but also as an outreach to the community at large.

“This is our opportunity to show we care about the people who live in our area!” said Davey. “Those who come will get a chance to see how much we care about others and how the Lord brings real joy and laughter to people.”

Komstad Covenant Church is a small but growing rural congregation with 45-60 people in attendance most Sundays, said Davey. The church just celebrated its 151st anniversary in June. Komstad is a member of the Evangelical Covenant Church, a conservative congregation of followers of Jesus Christ.

“We are a growing congregation of all ages, reaching out to welcome everyone with God’s love,” said Davey. “We as Komstad Church are on a Mission from the Lord.”

Komstad values center on relationship (welcoming family, friends, and newcomers into a loving fellowship); the Bible (the church and member lives are built around the Bible as their source of direction, strength, and comfort); following a Spiritual Journey (preaching, teaching, and following Jesus are the key parts); and team-building (developing and training teams of people to serve within the church and community).

“We hope everyone will join us for Round Up Day!” said Davey.
