A prepared team ready to win will step onto the field this season for Watchdog Football.
“We had a very good off season in the weight room and on the practice field,” said Head Coach Scott Ebert. “We are excited to get our 2025 football season underway!”
The team returns to Friday Night Lights with experienced players, including returning seniors Malachi James (WR/DB, who was All State WR in the Big East All Conference), Paden Hoffman (WR/DB), Kasen Voss (OL/DL), Connor Neumayr (OL/DL), Tiegen Nyhaug (WR/DB), and Hayden Schilling (RB/LB).
Returning juniors include Ashton Oberle (QB/DB, who was Big East All Conference), Elias Perez (WR/DB), Tate Lyle (TE/DE), Hayden Homandberg (WR/LB), Ben Seeley (WR/DB), Ian Henderson (TE/LB), Kanin Klentz (OL/DL), and Cameron Mullinix (OL/DL). Rounding out the returning players are sophomores Landry Sims (RB/LB), Dexton Miller (RB/LB), and Caden Schurch (OL/DL).
“We return quite a bit of experience in our skilled areas, and we are excited for our guys that will be making their first varsity start or getting in on varsity action this season,” Ebert said.
Newcomers to the varsity this year include: junior Lucas Anderson (WR/LB) and sophomores John Savey (QB/DB), Bennet Farley (WR/DB), Luke James (OL/DL), Kooper Joseph (OL/DL), Grant Jensen (WR/DB), Corbin Buum (OL/DL), Eric Buffit (WR/DB), and Wyatt Stewart (WR/DB). Freshman newbies are: Sebastian Castillo (RB/LB), Micah James (WR/DB), Bentley Schurch (OL/DL), and Gabe Kemner (OL/DL).
Having a successful season this fall will depend upon staying healthy and striving for improvements each week, said Ebert.
“We must strive to get better at our position each week,” he said. “We must play smart, fast, physical – we must continue to work on our response to adversity – take one game at a time with a 1-0 mindset – prepare as hard as we can each week – and always give our best effort.”
The team is coached by Ebert with help from Assistants Josh Arlt, Noah Guse, Bobby Jones, Arlin Likness, and Owen Reinalda.
